Graphing is an easy skill to work on during morning meeting. Every week, we graph the weather of the day. The one we made (below) is super simple to make.

Writing the days of the week on the balloons allows us to add questions beyond least and most. With this graph we can also add in these questions:
“What was the weather on Tuesday?”
“Was the weather the same or different on Monday and Thursday?”
“Which days were cloudy this week?”
We reset our graph after school each Friday, but you could choose to do a month long graph.

Instead of just counting by ones to the 100th school day, we made a chart that allows us to practice counting by tens and ones up to 100. Once we have celebrated the 100th school day, we switch to counting past 100 with our coins chart.

On this chart, we cap every 5 school days with a nickel so we can practice counting by fives. Read more: How To Incorporate Money Concepts.

This year we began having students write the total amount of money we have after counting the coins.
